I’ve rewritten this about 3 times now and it seems that I still can’t get it right. I’ve noticed this habit creeping up more in my life. An idea that everything needs to be correct; everything needs to be perfect. The music making process, sadly, was no exception. It had to be just right. This has lead to delays in actually finishing tracks and moving forward with new projects. The near endless project revisions lent itself to creative ruts, and thus a feeling of stagnation.

I can note such a parallel in my personal life. It has to be just right, must be perfect; complete. But completion implies that I’ve arrived at the destination. However, in the journey of life the destination is ever changing. I will never be finished, always changing. Forever, a work in progress.
